THREE IS A CHARM

THREE IS A CHARM

Have you ever had a day in which nothing went right? Well, in the book Chasing the Golden Butterfly, Tangi Singletary was having one of those days.  First of all ,she was up all night long trying to rewrite her already tight budget because she had to  kick out her trifling roommate, who was two months late  paying her part of the rent . In addition to that, Tangi came home early and caught her having a sexual encounter with her now former boyfriend. She didn’t  even take him in her bedroom;  they were getting busy on the white living room couch.  Both of them were naked and they weren’t careful with the cheap red  wine that they were  guzzling out of the  same bottle. They left red wine stains all over every thing .

Well., Tangi figured , if she sold her car and cut back on a few things , then she could make it  by herself until she could find another roommate; but  then BAM, out of the blue, she got a pink slip at her job and was escorted out the door  like she was a thief and she had just stolen something.

As she sat on a park bench trying to regroup after getting fired, she decided to get something to eat.  As she was returning to her seat to eat her sandwich and cola, a guy bumped her and spilled cola down the front of her expensive designer blouse that she was wearing for the very first time.  The blouse cost a full pay check and it took her several months to save the money and then wait for a good sale to come around so that she could purchase it.

The klutzy stranger was cute, apologetic and comforting.  He promised to pay for the cleaning later in the evening after work when he had a chance to get some money out of the ATM to take care of it.  The handsome stranger told her that her bad luck was going to change to good because  she had three bad encounters and that was all the universe was going to lay on her;  he said that three is a charm.

Tangi’s thought that the saying was just something people say to make you feel better.  Her luck had been so bad all day long and she had no faith that it was ever going to change or get better. But, the funny thing about the situation was this:  after the encounter with this klutzy stranger, she felt better. Maybe three is the charm and her luck was going to change after all.

Check out Chasing the Golden Butterfly to see if three is the charm for Tangi Singletary.

Leave a comment and tell me if you believe that saying.
