About Phyllis
My name is Phyllis Jean Robinson. I was born and raised in Chicago , Illinois. I feel that I can call myself a writer now because I have written 5 books.
My first 2 stories were romance novellas. They are entitled Never Give Up On Love and Another Chance to Love. They were included in one book. The second book was also a novella. It was entitled Royalty in a Cedar Box. It was set in Cairo Egypt. My third book was my first full novel. It was entitled Love’s Comfort and Joy. All of these books have a romantic story as its base. I’m not sure that they are really romance novels in the true sense because they have other themes to them too, but they had to be given a label and that was the closest one that fit.
Grace and Mercy Brought Us Through. It is a novel of historical fiction that was loosely based on the life of my great grandfather who was born into slavery and grew up to become a circuit riding preacher in Mississippi with the Methodist Church. This was a very exciting writing project that took me back to a time that tested and tried our people to their limits and the terrible experiences did not completely break us. It showed me just how amazingly strong we are as a people and by writing this piece it spoke to my spirit and hopefully allowed me to tell you that the African American Story is a powerful one that must be told.
Chasing the Golden Butterfly, a mystery is in production now and will be available for sale soon.
